Scope
These terms govern payments in connection with purchases via the platform, the seller’s commission and buyer protection. They supplement the terms of use of CompAs-IT.
Payment between buyer and seller
For a purchase via “Buy” (reservation), the buyer pays the purchase price directly to the seller, outside the platform. The platform does not process this payment and does not hold funds.
Buyer and seller may exchange contact and payment information in the chat as soon as the listing is unlocked. The parties agree the payment method directly.
Seller’s commission
The seller pays the commission for the unlocking manually via PayPal to the recipient communicated to them at the reservation. The recipient address is set by the platform in its configuration. The amount of the commission is described in the terms of use.
An administrator of the platform confirms receipt of payment with amount, date and reference and then triggers the unlocking. It requires that the confirmed amount is at least the commission; an overpayment is only noted. Until approval, the contact protection remains active.
If the price of an unlocked listing is raised and this results in a positive difference to the covered commission, the seller can pay this difference in the same way. After the payment is confirmed, an administrator must approve the listing again.
A price reduction does not lead to a refund. If the reservation is cancelled after the unlocking, an amount already paid is not refunded automatically and is not requested again for the same covered price level.
Payment safety tips
For payments between buyer and seller, the following is recommended:
- For purchases of goods, do not use PayPal “Friends & Family”; use a payment type intended for purchases of goods and services.
- Check the recipient, amount and item before paying.
- Keep proof of payment, shipping and handover as well as the message history.
- Do not pay in haste if payment requests are unusual or have been changed afterwards.
Buyer protection
Buyer protection by the platform exists only for purchases via the checkout with a payment service provider (PSP checkout) and only if the buyer expressly chooses it there.
For purchases via “Buy” (reservation) without the PSP checkout, there is no buyer protection by the platform.
The scope of buyer protection is not regulated in these terms.
Version and language
These terms carry a version identifier and a date. With every reservation, agreement to the current version is required and the version is stored.
